The 2014 International Conference on Information and Communications Technologies (ICT 2014) was held in Nanjing on May 15th-17th, 2014. It was hosted by China Institute of Communications (CIC) and Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), and organized by the Youth Committee of CIC (YC-CIC), Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (NJUPT), Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) and Dublin City University (DCU).

The opening ceremony was held at Science and Technology Hall of NJUPT at 8:30. Distinguished guests attended the ceremony included the president of NJUPT, Prof. Zhen Yang; the director of YC-CIC, Prof. Feng Qi; the vice-dean of communication and Information Engineering Institute of NJUPT, Prof. Liang Zhou.

The ceremony was hosted by Prof. Liang Zhou. More than 80 experts and scholars from the Finland, UK, Germany, Russia, Ireland, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan Region attended the conference.

The prize-awarding ceremony for excellent papers was held on the Afternoon of 16th. The Five “the Best Paper” prizes went to the papers from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (China), University of Turku (Finland), National Dong Hwa University (Taiwan), Beijing Jiaotong University (China) and National University of Defense Technology (China).

The conference received 331 papers from over 15 countries and regions worldwide, with 107 of them finally being admitted. This conference has been made a great success with the concerted efforts and supports from The Institution of Engineering and Technology, China Institute of Communications, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Nation Key Laboratory of Science and Technology on Information System Security, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and Hangzhou Dianzi University and Dublin City University.
